1. FIGlet is a program that makes big letters out of little letters, all without the help of modern household conveniences like the typesetting machine.

2. A “FIGlet server” is FIGlet middleware for the Web. FIGlet does all the hard work; the job of the server is merely to present a user-friendly interface to the layout engine. There are several FIGlet servers in the world. This one I created because I couldn't find a FIGlet server that would let me use all the available fonts simultaneously. Well, at least one worth two dry heaves.

3. It wouldn't make sense to make a FIGlet server that wasn't Lynx-friendly, now would it? Lynx is definitely much better than it was in 1995, but it still doesn't interpret JavaScript.
